GRANDMA
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
"Grandma" is a deeply personal film that explores the unbreakable bonds of love and the journey towards self-forgiveness. The inspiration for this story comes from my belief in the enduring presence of those we cherish, even after they have left this world. Love has the capacity to manifest in various shapes and forms, transcending the boundaries of our known reality. I hold a belief in the existence of parallel universes, where those we love continue to watch over us, protect us, and shower us with their affection.
In "Grandma," we follow Ming as he navigates the eerie and emotional landscape of his childhood home, confronting the guilt and sorrow he has carried since his grandmother's death. Through supernatural encounters that are both unsettling and poignant, Ming's journey becomes a metaphor for the universal process of healing and redemption.
This film is a reminder that love transcends the confines of life and death, offering solace and protection in myriad forms. It is through remembering and honoring our loved ones that we find healing and peace. My hope is that audiences will come away from "Grandma" with a renewed belief in the enduring power of love and the understanding that, with love in our hearts, we can better navigate the complexities of life.
